Morning or night?

Are you a morning person, or a night person?

I am decidedly a night one... Always have been, even as a little kid, according to my mom.

But this week I'm babysitting my sister's kids -- one of whom has to get up at 6:30 and eat a 5 course (I'm not kidding) breakfast and have his at least 5 course lunch packed all before 7:20.

I wonder... If I had to do this every day... Would I switch? Years of desperately trying to get to work on time would argue against this...

Are you a morning or a night person? Do you believe it's possible to switch?

i am both! I like to stay up late and read or watch movies or drink beer (!). But my son sleeps late in the morning and if I want to write, I must get up earlier than him. Needless to say, I yawn a lot!

Night person all the way.
And is it possible to switch?
Well, having 3 kids kinda forces you to do it. As you know now, Maureen!
But what's kind of neat is seeing that all three of my kids, as they get older, turn into night owls too. I totally understand that but, geez louise, trying to get them up in the morning is torture now. And night time was when I used to be able to write the most. That alone time is slowly being eroded (when I have to pick up and drop off teenagers from various spots).
Everybody is seriously sleep deprived at my house.
Oh well, there's always lunch at the office with the door closed...

I've said that if I ever find myself getting up early on the weekend for no reason, it was time to stop working.

That time is soon.

I'm proclaiming my night-personhood! But I must admit that having a cat who politely smacks me upside the head at 6:30 a.m. every day is helping me see that mornings aren't that bad...unless I have to operate heavy machinery or talk to someone.

Bonnie... This is why I don't have pets. ;-)

And my mom is here helping me tag-team the kids. We decided I'd be on prepare the 5 course breakfast and lunch box and she's on deal with the 6 year old human being at 6:30 am.

I'm a night person and I don't see that changing. Love your blog and layout!

Night by nature. Day by force. I really am a night owl, but get up early thanks to my several kids. Also, I exercise at 6 am 3x a week. The bottom line is I probably don't get enough sleep. :)

Thanks, Kelly! And thanks for stopping by.

Barrie... I've tried exercising in the morning... But it's never lasted more than a few days. I need to be forced.

I guess I did during the Grand Canyon trip... We were on the trail by 6:00 am a couple of days... But boy, it's painful for me.

Joanne, I admire you being able to get up early to write. I could never do that.
