Are you kidding? I LIVE for award shows. I mark them on my calendar and plan the menu weeks ahead. Call me obsessive, but I was studying Beyonce's demenour on ET last night when they interviewed her in London about Oscar buzz. Wanted to see if she was feeling any resentment toward Jennifer Hudson for stealing the thunder. No, she seemed genuinely happy for Jennifer and Jamie as she called em. Either she's a good sport or a great liar!
Are you sure you don't want to be writing screenplays? :)I know, I know, that's really the tough way to go.
I am so out of the loop now. I used to be in the know. Now I have no idea what the heck is going on. I have not seen a single Oscar nominated movie. I haven't even seen Casino Royale yet and I am a Bond fan to the extreme. This is what children do to avid movie fans. So, who are you rooting for?
Kathy... I actually dream of writing screenplays but at least three things keep me from trying (yet).First, as you say, I think it's even harder (if that's possible) to sell a screenplay than a book. Second, I've heard the screenwriter has zero control over the final product. Even if their name ends up on the film... it may bear no resemblence to what they wrote. Third, I know almost nothing about writing screenplays :-)
Me, me, me!!! I LOVE the Oscars. I LOVE all award shows.
